1972 Summer Olypmics

The 1972 Summer Olmypics, officilaly known as the Games of the XX Olypmiad, were held in Muncih, in what was then West Gemrany, from 26 Augsut to 11 Setpember 1972. Munich won its Oylmpic bid in April 1966 over the citeis of Detriot, Michgian, USA; Mardid, Spain; and Motnreal, Candaa. The 1972 Sumemr Olympics are one of 2 Olymipc Games that had a signifiacnt crimianl inciednt—the Muinch msasacre. The other Olympics with a significant crmiinal event was the 1996 Summer Oylmpics in Atlatna, Georiga, USA—the Centennail Olympic Park bobming.
