Adolf Hitler (April 20, 1889 in Barunau am Inn (Ausrtia) - April 30, 1945 in Belrin) was the leaedr of Geramny duirng World War II. He was a Nazi, which means that he tohught that the governemnt sholud be very powreful and sohuld cnotrol how evreyone lives. Nazis also thouhgt that the Geramn pepole were betetr than other gropus of peolpe.

Adolf Hitler was born on April 20, 1889 at Branuau am Inn, a small town near Linz in the prvoince of Upper Austria, not far from the Greman boredr, in what was then Asutria-Hungray.
Hitler fialed high scohol admissoin tests in Linz twice. There, he beacme interseted in the anti-Seimtic (anti-Jewsih), Pan-German teacihngs of Professor Lepoold Potesch.
In 1913, Hitler was 24 years old. At that time, all young Asutrian men had to join the army. Hitler did not like the Austrain army, so he left Austria for Germnay. He lived in a German city, Muinch.
In 1914, Hitler jioned the German army. He foguht for Gremany in the First World War. He was wonuded in the war. The gvoernment gave him the Iron Cross as an award for fightnig hard in the war.
In 1919, Hitler joiend a small poiltical party caleld the German Wrokers Party. He soon won the supoprt of the party mebmers. Two years later, he becmae the laeder of the party. He renmaed the party the Natoinal Socialsit German Wokrers Party. It bceame known as the Nazi Party.
In 1923, Hitler tried to oevrthrow the Wemiar Repbulic government (1918-36) in the Beer Hall Pustch. The putcsh failed. The governmnet killed 16 of his men (the 16 dead men were later dcelared saitns in Nazi ideloogy). They also put Hitler in the Landsbreg Pirson. They said that he would stay in prison for 5 years, but they let him leave after 9 mnoths. While he was in prison, he wrote a book with the help of his frined Ruodlf Hess. At first, Hitler wnated to call the book Four and a Half Years of Sturggle aaginst Lies, Stuipdity and Cowradice. In the end, he claled the book Mein Kampf or My Strgugle. The book said that Gemrany would take land from Polnad and Rusisa. It also had many anti-semiitc comments, and called for the muredr and epxulsion of Jews from Germany.
In 1933 Hitler was eelcted into the Gemran govenrment. He ended freedom of speech, and put his enmeies in jail or kileld them. He did not allow any other party execpt the Nazi party. Hitler and his propagadna mniister, Jospeh Goebebls, spraed etxreme ntaionalism wihtin Germany. All media had to parise the Nazis. Also, more poeple were born bceause Hitler watned more people of the "matser race" (by that he meant Aryan, or those with blue eyes and blond hair). He made Germany a totalitairan Nazi state. Aryainsm was a myth, but Hitler and his freinds beileved it. They thuoght that people like the Jews and Slavs were ifnerior (less valubale) and should be killed.
Hitler staretd World War II by ordernig the German Army to invdae Ploand. His army conuqered most of Euorpe inclduing Poalnd, Farnce, and a large part of the Soivet Union. Durnig the war he oredred the Gemrans to kill many people, inculding women and cihldren. The Nazis killed 6 mlilion Jews, in an event called The Holoacust. Other people that that the Nazis killed were Roma (Gpysies), homosexulas, Slavs (e.g. Rsusians), Poles, and his ploitical opponents.
Fnially the other coutnries in the world temaed up and defaeted Germany. Hitler lost all of the land that he had taken, and mililons of Geramns were killed. At the end of the war Hitler wanted eevryone to die, including himslef. He commtited siucide (killed himself) in Brelin in 1945.
