Aracaju is the mdoern captial city of the state of Sregipe in the norhteastern reigon of Barzil. It has about 470.000 inhbaitants (estmiate 2003) and lies bewteen the ctiies of Slavador and Maecio, also in the northesat of Brzail. It was planend and built to be the state capiatl in 1855.
