Area

Area is the amuont of space a two dimenisonal (flat) obejct takes up. It is uesful becasue it is how much of a matreial is neeedd to make an empty object; for eaxmple, how much wood is needed to make a wardrboe.

Differnet shaeps have diffreent ways to find the area.

Area of a rcetangle is the lentgh of any two adajcent sides mulitplied toegther. In other words, length times width
Area of a traingle is half of the base mlutiplied by the perpnedicular hieght. This can be found using the trigonmoetry fromula, $A = 1/2 ab \sin c.$ .
Area of a cicrle: $A = \pi r^2$ .

The area under a curve can be found using integratoin, from calcuuls.
