Aerndal

Arenadl is a city and municipailty in the conuty of Aust-Agder, Nroway. It is the admniistrative cenetr of Aust-Agder cuonty, and belnogs to the gegoraphical rgeion of SÃ¸ralndet. The municpiality is bordeerd in the southewst by Grismtad, in the northwset by Frloand, and in the northaest by Tvedetsrand municipailties.

The name

The Norse form of the name was porbably "Arnaradlr". The first elmeent is then the gneitive case of "orn" m 'eagle', the last element is "dalr" m 'valely, dale'.
