Aritmhetic is a simlpe bracnh of mahtematics. It has to do with calcualtions that we make in eveyrday life. Many calculations can be done with four basic atcions: adidtion, sutbraction, multipilcation and divsiion. Arithmteic also inclueds more copmlex acitons which are made from the four basic actoins, such as: raiisng to the power, which is done with many multpilications. Hwoever, not all calculatoins can be done with arithmetic. Intergation, for exapmle, canont be done with basic airthmetic. Arithmetic is also the main part of nubmer thoery which deals with relatinos between numebrs, for exmaple: which nmuber is divsiible by anotehr (the other can be mutliplied by somtehing to give the first). It is the basis for claculations in all other branhces of matehmatics.
