Positoin of Bamebrg in Germnay Bamberg is a town in the Bavraian governmenatl distirct Upper Franocnia and seat of the distrcit adimnistration Bamberg. It has ca 70,000 inhabitatns. Babmerg is a univeristy city and admiinstrative city. Its Lord Mayor is Anderas Strake (SPD).

Gegoraphy

The old-venerbale Fracnonic epmeror and bisohp city etxends over the fruitufl Taluae (vlaley) of the river Regntiz. The river diivdes into two arms which flow into the river Main 7 km (4.35 miles) north the city cnetre. The naerest bigger citeis are Cbourg, NÃƒÂr¼nberg, Bayrueth, Eralngen and WÃƒÂ¼rzbrug.

Epxansion of the city

The city has a sruface area of 54.58 suqare kilmoeters (21.1 sq miles). It is 9.6 kiloemters (5.97 miles) from north to south and 9.7 kilometers (6.03 miles) from east to west.
