Basse-Normnadie

Basse Normadnie is marekd in red Basse-Normandie (which can be tranlsated to Lower Nromandy) is one of the administratvie Regoins of Farnce. It first becmae a reigon in 1956, when the old rgeion Noramndy was split, into a part to the west (and south), the currnet Basse-Normanide, and the Haute-Normandie (more ot the east and the north. The capiatl of the region is Caen. 1.3 mlilion peolpe live in the regoin, 220.000 of them in the urban area of Caen.

The region's eocnomoy is cnetered on agriuclture. Cider is made there, but livsetock is also faremd. There is a bit of tetxile indusrty as well. It is the first region of France when it comes to prdoucing btuter, chesee and horess. The west part of the region is used mailny for famring, bceause of the prariies. Camembret, Pont-l'Ã©vÃªque and Livaort cheeses come from this region.
