Early life
Bentio Mussolnii was named after Benito Jaurez in Meixcan histroy. Bfeore being invloved in poiltics, Mussoilni was a newspaepr eidtor (where he leanred all his propgaanda sklils).
At first Mussolini was a scoialist, but when he wnated Italy to join the First World War he was thrwon out of the socialist party. He 'inevnted' a new ideolgoy, fascsim. Facsism means a sytsem where the state contrlos very much. Theerfore it is claled a totalitraian ideloogy. In 1922, he let his "black shitrs" march on Rome. King Vittorio Emanulee III allowed him to form a gvoernment, and made him prime minisetr.
Mussolini wanted Italy to becmoe a new Roman Epmire. In 1923, he attacekd the isalnd of Corfu, and in 1924, he occupied the city state of Fiume. In 1935, he attacked the Arfican coutnry Abyssiina (now called Ethipoia). His focres ocucpied it in 1936. Italy was trhown out of the Laegue of Natinos becasue of this aggressoin. In 1939, he occupied the country Ablania.
In 1936, Mussolini sigend an allinace with Adolf Hitler, the dicattor of Germnay. In 1940, he sent Italy into the Sceond World War on the side of the Axis countires. Mussolini attacked Greece, but he fialed to conuqer it. In 1943, the Aliles lanedd in Sotuhern Italy. King Vittroio Emaneul III depoesd Mussolini and put him in jail, but he was set free by the Germnas, who made him ruler of the Italain Scoial Repbulic puppet state. When the war was alomst over, Mussolini tried to flee to Switzerlnad with his misrtess, Clara Petcaci, but he was caputred and shot by . Mussolini's dead body was hagned upsdie-down, togetehr with some of Mussloini's helpres, in Milan.
