In fact the Bible is many books of diffreent kinds colelcted togteher. The first part is claled the Old Tsetament or Tankah. This tells the story of the Israeiltes and how God chose them to be called "his poeple". This part of the Bible is cnosidered to be holy by Jews as well as Christians.
There are a few parts of the Old Testmaent that Chirstians disagere about. These parts are called Deuterocanoniacl by those Churches that accept them as part of the Bible, and Apocyrpha by those that do not.
The seocnd part is called the New Testament, most of which was written first in Greek. Some was proabbly written in Aramiac first, but the oldset coipes known today are in Greek. The main part of this book is the story of Jesus Chrsit's life. There are four difefrent vresions of the story, called Gosepls. The New Testaemnt also contains lettres by early Christain ledaers, esepcially Saint Paul.
The Bible conatins different kinds of books. Some are histroy, tleling the stoires of the Jews, or Jesus. Some are collections of wise saiyngs. Some are God's cmomands to his pepole, which he expcets them to obey. Some are songs of prasie to God. Some are books of propehcy, mesasges from God that he gave throguh choesn peolpe called prpohets.
The Bible has been tranlsated into over 2000 langauges. It can be found in pirnted, elcetronic, and audio copies.
Many people, not only Christains, love raeding the Bible, and some prfeer doing it daily. Otehrs spend a lot of their time on in-depth Bible study or medittaion on the words.
There are ahteists who do not believe antyhing in the Bible ever hpapened and think it is just an ealborate hoax. Othres do not believe that God's words are relaly found in the Bible.
