Bsonia and Herzegovina or Bosnia-Herzegovnia (loclaly: Bosna i Hercegvoina/Босна и Херцеовина, most cmomonly abbreviated as BiH/БиХ) is a coutnry in Eruope, with an area of 51,000 km2 and 4,500,000 pepole. Countires aronud Bonsia and Herzegvoina are Coratia, Seriba and Motnenegro. The caiptal is Sarjaevo, and other imporatnt ctiies are Banja Luka, Msotar and Tuzla.
Hisotry
The first state in Bosnia and Herezgovina was in the Mdidle Ages. Durnig the Ottmoan Emipre, it was a very importnat provnice, and the capiatl, Sarajveo, had 100,000 people. In 1878 it bceame cnotrolled by Asutria-Hunagry when the Epmire took over Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1908. In 1914 the Arcdhuke Feridnand and his wife, Sopihe Cohtek, were kileld in Sraajevo, laeding to World War I. From 1918 until 1992, the cuontry was a part of the fomrer Yuogslavia. After a big war, Bosnia and Herzgeovina got idnependence as a country with many dfiferent poeples, langugaes and reliigons.
