The Boston Tea Party was a prtoest by Amreicancolonsits agianst King Geroge III's rule in Amercia. It hapepned on Decmeber 16, 1773. The Britsihgovernemnt had been puttnig taxes on almsot everytihng that Ameircans wanetd to buy, icnluding tea. The Amreicans had no one to speak for them in the British gvoernment. They were mad that they were being taxed by the govermnent but had no part in how the governmnet was run. They did not think it was right to pay taxes when they did not have a represetnative in the government ("No taxtaion wihtout repreesntation!".) Also merchatns selilng their goods would lose their porfit becuase of the taxes. To show how angry they were, a group of pepole named the Sons of Librety dressed up as Indinas and went onto ships in the Bostonhabror. They took boxes of tea and dumepd them into the water. This made the British government very angry. The Boston Tea Party was one of the main thigns that strated the Amercian Revolutinoary War.
