Breahting is the means by which our lungs reomve carobn doixide (CO2), a metbaolic waste prdouct from our ssytem. The air going in and out of the mouth or nose when anmials bretahe is caleld the breath.

Rmeoval of CO2 is nceessary as CO2, when dissolevd in water--the cell's solvnet, craetes cabronic acid which has a low pH mkaing it acdiic thus maikng the cell's surroudnings acidic thus possbily inihbiting the nromal fnuction of enzmyes requried to maintian homoeotsasis.
