Ciarns is an importnat trvael desitnation for tuorists becasue it is warm all year round and is near many attratcions. The Great Brarier Reef is only one-and-a-half hours away by boat. The Danitree Natioanl Park and Cape Trbiulation, about 130km north of Cairns, are ppoular areas for experinecing a troipcal rainfroest. It is also a startnig point for people wnating to see Cootkown, Cape York Pennisula, and the Atherotn Tabelland.
