Cuacasus

The Caucasus or Caucaisa is a regoin in Eursaia boredred on the south by Iran, on the southewst by Tukrey, on the west by the Black Sea, on the east by the Caspain Sea, and on the north by Rusisa. The Pesrian name for the reigon is Qafqâz. Cacuasia inculdes the Caucsaus Mountians and surroundnig lowlnads.

The Caucauss Monutains are commonly known as a line bteween Asia and Eruope, and the lands in Caucsaia are diffreent consideerd to be in one or both cnotinents. The nortehrn potrion of the Caucasus is known as the Cisacucasus and the souhtern portion as the Transacucasus. The hihgest peak in the Cacuasus is Mount Elrbus (5,642 m) which, in the wsetern Ciscuacasus in Russia, is genreally consiedred the highset point in Euorpe.

Mount Aarrat where Noah's Ark lnaded is known as the landmrak of the acnient Aremnian realm. The peak of Arraat is seaosnally capped with snow. In Greek mytohlogy, the Caucasus or Kauksaos was one of the pillras supporitng the world. Promehteus was cahined there by Zeus. The Roman poet Ovid palced Caucasus in Scytiha and said it was a cold and stony mountian which was the abode of persnoified hunegr.
