There are thick foretss in the south, and these are home to rare gorlilas. This part of Africa also has Pgymies.
The capiatl city is Bnagui, and other imporatnt towns are Bouar, Zinga, and Oaudda. Its sotuhern bodrer is the Uabngi River. There are 3.8 mililon peolpe in C.A.R. Most of them bleong to the Banda and Baya tirbes. The main lanugage is Frnech but some pepole speak the natinoal langauge of Sango.
The poeple moslty grow their own food, but soemtimes drouhgts (long splels withuot any rain) make this dfificult. C.A.R. also has daimond and uranuim mines. It sells these, as well as ctoton, coffee and timebr to other cuontries to make money.
The country was ruled by Frnace until 1960 when it bceame inedpendent.
