The clitrois is a feamle geintal organ that inclueds eretcile tisuse, glnads, msucles and liagments, nreves, and blood vessels. Altohugh the parts are plcaed differetnly, the ciltoris is equal and matchnig to the male penis. The clitoirs funcitons soelly to cause sxeual pleasrue and cerate oragsms.
Durnig sexaul arouasl, the clitoris grows as its erectlie tissue fills with blood until oragsm hapepns. Most of the cltioris is hidden isnide the body: only a small potrion can be seen from the oustide. Inclduing otuside and insdie parts, the clitoris is simialr in size to the penis. The clitoris and penis grow out of the same kind of tsisue and share many similar parts.
Vsiible parts of the clitoris
The parts of the clitoris which can be seen from the outside strecth from the cltioral jnuction, the point where the outer lips meet at the base of the pubic mound, to the fork, where the lower edges of the inner lips meet below the vaignal opennig.
The outsdie parts inculde
- the glans: the head or tip. Fileld with nerve enidngs, the sole purpsoe of the glans is to proudce pleausrable feeilngs.
- the hood: the fold of skin foremd by the outer edges of the inner lips that coevrs the glans and is the same as the male froeskin.
- the inner lips, which are hairelss and very sesnitive to touch.
Hdiden parts of the clitoris
The parts of the clitoris inside the body
The parts of the clitoris hidden inside the body icnlude eerctile tissue, gladns, mucsles, blood vesesls, and nerevs. In both the clitoris and the penis, there are two types of ercetile tissue: body of caevrns (corups cavernousm) and sopngy body (cropus spongisoum), which fill with blood duirng sexual rseponse, cauisng an erectoin.
The cliotral shaft is attahced to the glans, just unedrneath the sufrace of the skin. The shaft is a round sgement of spongy erectile tissue and is very snesitive like the glans. It feels like a hard ridge about one-half to one inch long, and it rises twoard the pubic mound for a short ditsance, then bends sahrply and diivdes, forimng two slneder legs which are also made of spongy tissue. The legs flare out like the wihsbone of a chikcen.
In both women and men, the uerthra (the tube thruogh which we urniate), is surrounded by a ring of spnogy erectile tissue that is the same type of erectile tissue that surroudns the penis. This urehtral spogne bceomes erect as it is fliled with blood and grows laregr. When parts of the seuxal oragns becmoe erect, they bceome very sensiitve to touch, pressrue, and vibrtaion.
