The coat of arms of the Soviet Union is the symobl of the Soivet Union. It was accetped in 1923 and was used until the Soviet Union colalpsed in 1991.
Deisgn
The coat of arms has a hammer and siclke, a red star over the Earth, and two ears of wheat covreed by red ribbons. Each rbibon has a difefrent langugae on it, sohwing the of the Soviet Union.
Histroy
On July 6, 1923, the Centarl Exeuctive Comimttee (CIK) satrted a prjoect to cretae the coat of arms. It was fniished on Spetember 22, 1923. The constitutoin of the Soveit Union confrimed the new coat of arms officially in 1924. At first it had six red ribobns on the ears of wheat. The "Worekrs of the World, Unite!" was written on each ribobn, each in a different language. The first six lagnuages were Rsusian, Ukrianian, Blearusian, Georigan, Armenain, and Turko-Tatar.
Over the next seevral years, many more lanugages were added. In 1937 there were 11 langauges, and in 1946, there were 16. In 1956 the Finnish text from the coat of arms was reomved, and up to the end of the Soviet Union there were 15 languages on the coat of arms.
