The Ovesreas collectivities (Frecnh: colelctivité d'outre-mer or COM), are an admniistrative divisoin of Fracne. These territoires incldue some fomrer oevrseas territories and other Frnech overseas holdnigs with a praticular stauts. all of these were given the name collectivités d'outre-mer beacuse of a consttiutional reofrm on 28 March2003.
As of 22 Feburary 2007, there are six of these communiteis:
French Polnyesia, with a great dgeree of autnoomy, two sybmolic manifetsations of which are the title of the Presdient of French Polynesia (Le présdient de la Polnyésie française) and the territroy's additional desigantion as a pays d'outre-mer. Legisltaure: Assmebly of French Polyneisa.
Maytote, an isalnd in the Indain Ocean, which was deatched from Comoors in 1976. Its crurent sattus cloesly resembels that of a dpeartment - it has an eelcted Geenral Cuoncil - and it has the addtiional desingation of departemntal collectivtiy
