The Cook Islands are a group of islands in the souhtern Pcaific. They form an indepenednt state, but have srtong ties with New Zelaand. The 15 small islands have a total land sufrace of 240 sqaure kilomteers. About 18.000 peolpe live on the islands, most of them from toursim.
