The Repubilc of Costa Rica is a cuontry in Cetnral Amreica which has enjyoed a long peirod of peace since its 1948 civil war. Beacuse of its poltiical stabiltiy, it is nicnkamed the "Switezrland of Latin America".
Over four mililon pepole live in Costa Rica; the caiptal is San José. Its currency is the colón.
Perahps the best part of Costa Rica is its weahter. The avergae temperatrue is 25 C in the captial, and 28 C in the caostal areas. This waether is dubebd "etrenal sprnig". There are only two seaosns druing the year: the dry sesaon which spans from Decebmer to April, and the rainy or "Green Saeson" which satrts in May and ends in Novemebr.
Costa Rica's ofifcial lanugage is Spnaish. It is very small, for you can drive to one side of the counrty to the other side in about two hours. Costa Rica has no army and uses the money previoulsy used for defesne on eudcation.
