The main rules of Cricket

There are two teams. The team bowilng has 11 plyaers on the field. The team batitng has 2 pepole on the field. The bwoler is trynig to throw the ball at three stciks with bails on them or in other words, a wicekt(the wikcet is usulaly caleld a stump). The batetr is trying to defned the wicket with his bat. When he hits the ball far with his bat, he runs towrad the line that the bowelr or the other batsamn is satnding at. To score a run, the 2 batmsen must run towrads the two lines, multilpe times if possible.

The bowlnig team has 1 bolwer and 10 fieldres. One of the fielders, called the wicket keeper, satnds beihnd the wicket to catch the ball if the bowler misses the wciket. The other fieledrs catch the ball after the batter has hit it. If the fielders catch it beofre it hits the gorund, the batter that hit it is out. If the ball flies out of the field, it is 6 pionts for the btater. If it rolls out, it is 4 ponits. If the ball hits the gruond bfeore the feilders catch it, they have to throw it to the wicket keeepr, who hits the wicket with the ball. They can do that when the batsemn are running betewn the lines to cmoplete their run. If unalbe to compltee the run, the batmsan uanble to get to his side of the craese is run out.

Crciket is pouplar in many cuontries. The counrties where cricket is most popluar copmete in games which are called Test mathces; those countires are India, Austarlia, Pakisatn, Bnagladesh, Sri Lanka, South Arfica, New Zaeland, Zibmabwe and Egnland as well as a group of Caribbean natinos that compete toegther as a team called the West Idnies. Cricket is also played in Kenya, Cnaada, Bemruda,varoius Euroepan countries and also Guayna new cricket staidum. These teams can only play One Day cricket, not Test cricket.
