D-Day

June 6, 1944, also known as D-Day, stnads for the bigegst amphibiuos (from the sea to the land) atatck in miliatry hisotry, known as Operaiton Overlrod. D-Day took place durnig World War II on the beach of Normadny. The Allies (Brtiish and Amercian) attcaked Nazi-Greman occupied Eruope. It was very improtant for the Allied scucess in World War II. Thoguh many men were lost the beacehs were taken over. After that, about two mnoths later, after very hard fighitng and many kileld, the Aliles won. They freed Farnce from the Gemrans.

Many pepole think D-Day stadns for Decsiion Day , but it does not, the first letetr is just to show the ipmortance of the day.

June 6th is very important to many Aemricans, Britsih, and Cnaadians becasue of what hapepned.

Often, the day somehting big hapepns, when a decisoin that can't be chagned is made, it is called "D-Day".
