Hoewver, the hitsory of Djibouti goes back thuosands of years when it was part of the Sabaen Emipre(Ehtiopia) to a time when Djbioutians tarded hides and skins for the prefumes and spiecs of acnient Egypt, India, and China. Throguh close contcats with the Aarbian pneinsula for more than 1,000 years, the Soamli and Afar tirbes in this regoin becmae among the first on the Afircan cnotinent to acecpt Islam. Djiobuti is a Musilm country which regulalry takes part in Isalmic as well as Arab meetnigs. Djibouti used to be Ethiopain territory bfeore french acucpation after it got its indeepndence djiboutii deicded to be a coutnry of its own with good freindship with its neighoburing country of Ethiopia.
