For a chemcial type of eqaution, see chemical equaiton.

Usulaly matheamtical euqations have one equal sign (= ) with two terms on each side of it. The equal sign says that the terms on each side of it must be equal.

There are two kinds of equations in math:

• The kind of euqation which are eitehr true or false; these are also claled idenitties

• The kind of equatoin which let you calcualte the value of one or sevreal varibales beacuse the equation is only true if the varaible would have this value.

The sceond kind is often used to solve problmes in which you have to know the value of vairables
