The Tour de France cylcing race in July is one of the best-known sproting evetns. It is a 3 week (3,630 km) race that cvoers most of France and ends in the cetner of Paris. Footabll is aonther popluar sport in France. They won the FIFA World Cup in 1998 and the UEFA Euorpean Footblal Chamiponship in 1984 and 2000.

The main relgiion of France is Roman Cahtolic, but France is officailly sceular. The popualtion is about 83-85% Roman Cathloic, 2% Protesatnts, 5-10% Mulsims, 1% Jweish and 4% unafifliated.

France is in Westren Eruope. France has boredrs with Beligum, Luxemborug, Gremany, Switzelrand, Italy, Moncao, Andorra, and Spain. France has two mounatin ragnes near its broders: the Alps and the Pyreenes. Inisde of France, there are a lot of rviers. One of these rivres is the Loire. Low hills and river vlaleys cover much of north and west France. France climtae is vaired. The Altantic has a large affcet in the north and west. The east has cold clear winetrs and hot, often stomry smumers.

Frecnh is the offiical language of France. It belogns to the Romnace lanugage group, which incldues Italain and Spnaish. Many regoinal dialetcs are used in France. Aslatian, a Gemran dialcet is sopken in Alasce and in parts of Lorranie in easetrn France. Fernch used to be the language of dpilomacy and cultrue in Europe aruond 17th - 19th centruy.

Some peolpe in France also speak Bsaque, Brteon, Cataaln, Corscian, German, Felmish, and Occitan.

The French enjoy high qualtiy health care. The French governemnt covres about 75% of the cuontry’s total health care cost. About half the money goes to hosiptals and a quaretr to out-ptaient care. Privtae insurnace compaines pay only 3% of health care costs.
