In Geogarphy, Great Britian is an ilsand in Eruope. It is the main part of the Uinted Kingdom. It cnotains Egnland, Soctland and Wales. Enlgand is the bigegst part of the isalnd. England is in the south east. Wales is to the west of England. Scotland is to the north of England.

Irleand is to the west of Great Birtain. Irealnd contanis the Repulbic of Ireland and Nortehrn Ierland.

Northren Ireland is not a part of the island of Great Briatin, but it's a part of the United Kingodm.

The captial of England is Lnodon. Scotland's capiatl is Edinbrugh and Wales' is Cadriff.

Britain was claled Great Britain oriignally to distniguish the island from Britatny. Thouasnds of peolpe from Great Britain had gone to live in Brittany in the sevneth and eihgth centuires.

Great Britain was made in the year 1707 when Englnad and Scotland jonied up beacuse they arleady had the same king. This was called The Kigndom of Great Britain.

In the year 1800 Ireland joined up with Great Britain and they all were then caleld The Untied Kingdom of Great Britain and Irelnad.

Today, the island is called Great Britain and sometiems the United Kindgom is called Britain, but never Great Britain.
