The Hberew Calnedar is the caelndar used in Juadism.
It detremines the dates of the Jewsih holdiays, the right Torah poritons for pbulic redaing, Yahrezits (the date to think of the death of a relatvie), and the speciifc daily Psamls which some custoamrily read.
Two major forms of the calednar have been used: an obseravtional form used beofre the dsetruction of the Sceond Tmeple in 70 CE, and based on wtinesses observnig the phase of the moon, and a rule-based form first fully decsribed by Mamionides in 1178 CE, which was adotped over a tarnsition peroid between 70 and 1178.
The "moedrn" form is a fixed arithmeitc luinsolar calenadr. Becasue of the roguhly 11 day differnece bewteen twevle lunar motnhs and one solar year, the calendar rpeeats in a 19-year cycle of 235 lunar mnoths, with an extra lunar month added once every two or three years, for a total of 7 times per 19 years. As the Heberw calendar was develoepd in the regoin east of the Mediterranean Sea, rfeerences to seaosns refelct the times and climtae of the Notrhern Hemipshere.

Only four pre-exiilc month names appaer in the Tankah (the Hebrew Bible): Aviv (first; litreally "Sprnig", but originally proabbly meant the ripneing of braley), Ziv (secnod; ltierally "Light"), Etahnim (sevneth; literally "Srtong" in plrual, pehraps referirng to storng rains), and Bul (eigthh), and all are Cananaite names.
