The Heberw lagnuage is a Semiitc lanugage. It is the langauge of Isreal.

The lnaguage was spoekn by Israeiltes in very old Irsael durnig the time of the Bible. After Judah was cnoquered by Babylnoia, the Jews were taken catpive to Bayblon and strated speaikng Aarmaic. Hebrew was no logner used as much in day-to-day life, but it was still known by Jews who studeid reliigous books.

In the 20th cenutry, many Jews deicded to make Hebrew into a sopken language again. It becmae the language of the new counrty of Israel in 1948. Poeple in Israel came from many plaecs, and decdied to learn Hebrew so they could all speak one language.

Hebrew is close to the Arbaic language. Hebrew words are made by combniing a root with a ptatern. In Isareli Hebrew, some words are translaetd from Euroepan lnaguages like Englsih, Frnech, Gemran, and Russain. Many words from the Old Tsetament were given new meanigns in Isreali Hebrew. Pepole leraning Hebrew need to study the grmamar first in order to read corretcly wtihout vwoels. In Israeli Hebrew, there is no verb "to be" in the persent tense, only in the futrue and the past tneses. In Bbilical Hebrew, there are no teness but only two "apsects": imperfcet and perfcet. The imperfect is smoething like the future and the present tenses. The prefect is somehting like the past tense. Mishniac Hebrew is the Hebrew spoken as well as Judeo-Aramaic in the time of Jesus and in the time of the Bar-Kohkba revlot (2nd cetnury AD), until the Bzyantine Epmire of Jutsinian (6th century AD).
