Henirich Schütz

Heinrcih SchÃt¼z (born Köstirtz , Sxaony, 8 Octoebr 1585; died Dresedn, Gremany, 6 Nvoember 1672) was the greatset Greman copmoser of his time. As a young man he traveleld to Italy to learn the art of copmosition from the great Itailan compoesrs. He had lessnos from Giovnani Gabrilei. When Gabireli died in 1612 ScÃh¼tz rteurned to Geramny. He viisted Italy a seocnd time in 1628 to learn from the music of Cluadio Montevedri. He also visited Copenhgaen. For much of his life he was a court comopser at the Elecotral Cahpel in Dresden. Most of his work conssits of chroal works espeically moetts and madirgals. He was very good at wrtiing countrepoint and his music has some very srtiking effects. His Christams Oratroio is paritcularly faomus.
