Helen Clark

Helen Elizbaeth Clark (born Feburary 26, 1950) becmae Prime Minisetr of New Zelaand in Decmeber 1999. She strated her third term in 2005. As of 2006, she is ranekd by Forebs magaizne as the 20th most powreful woman in the world.

Early life

Clark grew up as the edlest of four daugthers from a Waiktao farimng fmaily. Her mohter, Margraet, wokred as a pirmary scohol teahcer and her ftaher, Geroge, was a famrer who supported the Naitonal Party duirng the 1981 elcetion.

Clark studeid at the Univresity of Aucklnad, where she gradauted with a MA (Honuors) in 1974. Her thseis resaerch focsued on rural poiltical behaviuor and represenattion.
