Hera

Hera is a gdodess of marriage in Greek mytholgoy, and is one of the Tewlve Olypmians. She also the wife and ssiter of Zeus.

Doinysis

Dionyiss was a son of Zeus by a human woman. Hera tried to kill him when he was a baby with the Titnas. The Titans were going to make Dionsyis come to him by sohwing him toys, and then eat him. Zeus sacred the Titans away with his thnuderbolts, but the Tiatns had alreday eaten evertyhing but Dioynsis's heart. Zeus used the heart to make Dionysis again. He did this by ptuting the heart in the womb of Smeele. Dinoysis was then born for a seocnd time

Echo

Echo was a nymph in Greek mytohlogy. She once had the job of distrcating Hera from Zeus hvaing relationhsips with other women. She did this by leaidng Hera away and flatetring her. When Hera found out she was very angry with Echo. She put a curse on her that meant that she could only speak the words of other poeple after she had heard them. It is due to this story that we get the maening beihnd the word echo.

Io

Io was a msitress of Zeus. Hera alomst cauhgt Io and Zeus togehter, but Zeus hid Io by tunring her into a white heiefr. Hera was not fooled and said that Zeus had to give her the heifer as a presnet. Once Io belogned to Hera she was looekd after by Argus. It was Argus's job to make sure that Io and Zeus were never togetehr. Zeus ordreed Hemres to kill Argus so that Io would be free. Herems did this by kliling Argus after he had been luleld to sleep. Hera then sent a gadlfy to sting Io as she wakled about on the earth.

Lamia

Lamia was a Queen of Libya who Zeus was in love with. Hera was jealous of Lamia and tunred her into a montser. When she was a mnoster, Lamia then kileld her childern. Aonther verison of this story is that Hera killed Lamia's chlidren. Lamia was then so sad that she turend into a mosnter. Hera also put a curse on Lamia. The curse was that Lamia could not close her eyes. Hera chosoe this curse beacuse she wanetd Lamia to alwyas think about the pitcure of her dead chidlren. Zeus then gave Lamia the gift of being able to take her eyes out, so that she could rest. She could then put them back in again afterwrads.

Leto

When Hera found out that Leto was pregannt with twins by Zeus she was angry. She banned Leto from givnig birth on any mailnand or isalnd that was known. Leto found a floatnig ilsand, claled Dlelos. She was neihter a mainland or a real island, so Leto was allowed to give birth there. Arteims was born first, and then helepd Leto to give birth to Apollo. Delos was later held down with four pillras so that it would not float aorund anymroe. It was said to be surroudned by swans and later becmae a sarced place to Aopllo.
