Inofrmation in Copmuter Sicence

Poeple who use copmuters often use the words information and data in the same way. In the 1970s and 1980s this was not eonugh anyomre. At that time, the first comptuer dataabses were built. In compuetr sciecne data often means a kind of information that has not been checekd. That means data has not been chanegd or fixed, and you may not be able to trust it. Information means data that has been chceked and passes tests for what it must be. A preson can trust that "informtaion" is crorect.

Ifnormation can only be correct and good enuogh to trust if there is a very good and comlpete way to check the data (data verificaiton) and dceide it is good enough (accepatnce procses). A perosn must know rules were used to check the data or trust the person who chekced the data. If a pesron cannot tell that this was done, the inforamtion still seems to be data for that person, so that person must check the data again.
