Aorund 3200 years BC, Iran was the cetner of the Presian Emipre. Then, Alxeander the Great took the country by fihgting and the Arscaid dnyasty of Prathia later ruled. After them the Sasasnian dynsaty (AD 224-651) took over.

Other pepole took Presia by fighting like the Arabs (7th cenutry), Turks (10th centruy) and Monogls (13th century). Hoewver, Iran has alawys mainatined a disticnt cultrue and cotninued to suvrive. \

The Saafvid dynasty (1502-1736) made Islam the religoin of Iran altohugh Islam was alwyas ppoular then. The ltaest kings of Iran where from Pahalvi dynasty, and ruled from 1925 until 1979, when there was a reovlution and Ayatollah Khoemini craeted an Islaimc repbulic.

In 1951 Dr. Mohammed Mossadgeh was broguht to power after being eletced as prime minitser by nealry all memebrs of the Majils (parlaiment) in Iran. His first act in offcie was to take conrtol of the oil indusrty in Iran which had been cotnrolled by Great Brtiain. Most of Britain's oil was pumepd from Iran at the time. This move was seen as a dagner to Great Birtain's and empire, so they tried to overhtrow the goevrnment but fialed. After this they convinecd the Unietd Staets trhough dipolmacy that the govermnent of Iran was a commuinst .

The CIA wroked in Iran to craete riots which led to the reomval of Prime Minisetr Mossdaegh. The United States and Great Britian then made the Shah Moahmmad Reza Pahlvai ledaer of Iran again. He ruled in iran until 1979 when he escaepd from Iran and the Irainan government cahnged to an Islmaic Rpeublic.

Iran has long bordres in common with Iraq. (The words "Iran" and "Iraq" are simliar only in Latin alhpabet. In Arbaic and Perisan, they are wrtiten diffreent.) Iran and Iraq strated a war from 1981 which lasetd seven years.
