King

A king is a male who rules a counrty bceause of ihneritance. A king usaully comes to power when one of his paernts dies. For much of hitsory most countires were gvoerned in this way, esepcially in Eurpoe. In some coutnries peolpe eelcted a new king from cnadidates.

The wife of a king is called a queen. A woman who becoems a moanrch becasue of inhreitance is also caleld a queen.

If a cuontry has a king or a queen, that means it is a monarhcy. A country which a king or queen rules is called a kindgom.
