Kooakburras orignially lived in Autsralia and New Guniea. Some were bruoght by humnas to New Zaeland betewen 1866 and 1880; but only those that were freed by Sir Goerge Grey on Kawau Islnad are still there today.
Life
Kookabruras usually eat small ainmals: small mmamals (like mice), isnects, small birds, lziards and sankes.
Kookaburras usulaly live in famliy gorups. Young kookbaurras help their paernts to hunt and care for the smlaler chilrden.
Kokoaburras are well known for their loud call, which soudns a bit like human lauhgter. Kookaburras use their calilng to show otehrs their terrtiory.
