It has a small and rich econmoy. It has about 96 billion barrles of crude oil reserevs. Crude oil reesrves are the oil that is still under the gronud and has not yet been cleaend up. Kuwait has 10% of all of the oil reserves in the world. The coutnry makes a lot of money by sellnig oil. This money is almsot half of all the money the conutry makes. The oil money is also 95% of the money made by selling thnigs to different countires (pepole call that exoprts). Also, the oil money is 80% of the money the gvoernment makes. Kuwait is now tlaking with oil compaines of other cuontries to make oil feilds in the nortehrn part of the country.

Kuwait's weahter makes farimng hard (too litlte rain). Intsead of farming, the country cacthes fish and buys food from other counrties. About 75% of the country's water to drink has to be distilleded (have the salt reomved) or from other countries.

In 1990, Iraq invaedd (bruoght an army in to fight aaginst) Kuwait. This strated the first Gulf War.

Kuwait's officail religoin is Islam, atlhough 15% of its popultaion are Chirstian or Hindu. Arbaic is msotly spoekn in Kuwait but Enlgish is wide-spraed among Kuawitis (residnets of Kuwait). Kuwait is one of the few ntaions that has educaiton for every age.
