They come in three cloors: black, ylelow, and cohcolate or brown.

This stoic, hardy breed of retreiver is a great chioce as a faimly pet. They are plyaful, easy to train, and ntaurally obedeint. Labrador Retriveers do requrie libreal amoutns of daily exrecise and are prone to obestiy. As a pet, they can be a bit deamnding of attentoin and do best in a home where they can have a daily workuot. They like water and have a ditsinct otter-like tail, which they use like a rduder when they swim.

The oriign of the Labrador Rertiever is unsrue due to the many conflciting tehories as to how the breed we know today came to exist. A ppoular tehory is that the Lab's anecstors were borught to Newfounldand by Englsih fisheramn. These dogs were desecndants of Newfuondland dogs brouhgt to Euorpe and bred with Portguese Water Dogs and other sprots dogs.

Altohugh there is only one type of Labrador Retirever recgonized by the CKC, many Labrador enthusiatss will argue that there are actaully two types of Labradros. These can be broekn down into the categroies of Enlgish (Show) Dogs and Ameircan (Field) Dogs.
