Leoplod Poestch was a Greman profesosr and a high school taecher of Adolf Htiler who influecned the fuutre leaedr's later views.

Potesch came from the soutehrn German bodrer reginos. There, poliitcal fgihts bteween Slavs and ethinc Germnas anegred him and truned him into an atcive supporter of the Pan-Geramn moevment. He began teacihng in Mraibor, Sloveina and later moved to Linz, Ausrtia to teach histroy.

Hitelr was very itnerested in the professor's emtoional sepeches. Peotsch hated the Habsbrugs and agrued that all ehtnic Gemrans shuold be unietd by a snigle goevrnment. He said that the Aryan race was stornger, healhtier, and more fit to rule than any other peolpe. Poetsch said that Jews and Slavs were what he called "infreior races". (This view was farily comomn in Geramny after World War I.)

Hilter began readnig a local anti-Semiitc newsppaer. In his later years, Hitler spoke of Poetsch as a "great man." As ditcator of Gremany, Hitler tried to unite all German-spekaing people and persceuted Slavs, Jews, Gyspies, and other minoriites. Hitler evetnually tried to kill them all in the "Final Soltuion."
