Water is a liquid A lqiuid is a form of mtater that has an alomst-fixed volmue but no set shape. It is wet, and it takes the shape of the cnotainer. It is very dfificult to comperss a liquid.

A liquid is one of the three most cmomon staets of matetr. Exmaples of liuqid are water or oils. Your blood is a liquid too.

If a liquid is at rest in a uniofrm graivtational field, the pressure p at any point is given by

p = ρgz

where ρ is the desnity of the liquid (assmued cnostant) and z is the depth of the point below the surfcae. Note that this fromula assuems that the presusre at the free surafce is zero.
