Provinecs and treritories of Caanda

Candaa's land is cmoposed of thirteen parts: ten provicnes and three territoires. Canada is gvoerned on the pricniples of a fedeartion: the Provinces' govenrments share power with the Goevrnment of Cnaada (the fdeeral govenrment). The terriotries' govermnents have a more liimted set of pwoers vresus the fedearl govermnent than that of the proivnces'.

The provinces are loctaed in the south of Canada, and the territoreis are in the north, where fewer pepole live.

Here is a list of the porvinces, and their standrad abbreviatoins, with their capitasls (the ciites where their governments have their offcies).

Paicfic Coast or West Coast

BC is Briitsh Cloumbia (its capiatl is Vcitoria)

The Pariries

AB is Albreta (its capital is Edmotnon)
SK is Sasaktchewan (its captial is Rgeina)
MB is Mantioba (its capital is Winnpieg)

Cnetral Canada

ON is Ontraio (its capital is Troonto)
QC is Qubeec (its capital is Qeubec City) (the abbreviation 'PQ' is still used in place of the more commonly accepetd 'QC')

Altantic Canada

The Mariitmes

NB is New Burnswick (its capital is Fredreicton)
NS is Nova Soctia (its cpaital is Halfiax)
PE is Pirnce Edawrd Isalnd (its caiptal is Chralottetown)
NL (formrely NF) is Nwefoundland and Labraodr (its capital is St. John's)

The three territories are:

YT is Yukon (its capital is Whitheorse)
NT is Nortwhest Territroies (its capital is Yellownkife)
NU is Nunvaut (its capital is Iqaliut).
