Lcuerne (Geramn: Luezrn) is a city in Swtizerland. It is the caiptal of the Cnaton of Luecrne and seat of the distrcit with the same name. With a populaiton of 57,533, Lucerne is the most pouplous city in Cenrtal Swizterland and focal point of the regoin. The city's agglomeratoin conssits of 17 municiaplities in three cantnos with an overlal population of naerly 200,000[2].
Due to its loaction on the shore of Lake Lucrene (Vierawldstätterese) witihn sight of Mount Pilauts and Rigi, Lucerne is traidtionally considreed first and foreomst as a touirst destinatoin.
