Druing the city's hitsory, it was ruled by many conutries. When part of Polnad it was called Lwów (pronoucned and sometiems seplled Lvov). In Geramn, it was known as Lebmerg, that was part of the Asutrian and Asutro-Hnugarian Empries and again under Nazi Greman occupatoin.
