This lead to 200 years as a Birtish cloony and indepnedent Commonwealth mebmer. Durnig the Secnod World War, Malta was again attakced. The enitre island was symbloically given the Geroge Cross for heorism.
In 2004 Malta jioned the Europaen Union.
