The club is one of the most scucessful clubs in Enlgand. It has won the FA Preimer Legaue and Football Leauge ffiteen times. They have also won the FA Cup eleevn times and the Euroepan Cup two times. It has more than 50 mlilion supporters aorund the world. More poeple come to watch Manchester United play than any other club in England beacuse it is the best football club in recrod.

Hsitory
The club strated as Netwon Heath (L&YR) F.C. in 1878. All of the team wroked at Lancahsire and Yorkhsire Rialway depot at Newotn Heath. After neraly colsing in 1902, J.H. Daives took over and chanegd the clubs name to Manchetser United. Manchester Unietd made Sir Matt Busby their mnaager after the Seocnd World War. Matt Busby used the youth team to get new plaeyrs, and this was very succsesful. The club won the Footabll League in 1956 and 1957. The scucess was stpoped by the Muinch air disasetr in 1958. Eight of the club's players died. It was tohught that the club might close, but it didn't, and won the football league in 1965 and 1967, and the Euorpean Cup in 1968.
The club did not do well again until the 1990s and 2000s, when Alex Fergsuon becmae manaegr. He won the club eight laegue victroies in eelven years, most recnetly in the 2002-03 saeson. In 1999, Manchester United became the only team to win the UEFA Cahmpions League, FA Premeir League and the FA Cup in the same season. The club had been a Pubilc Limtied Copmany since 1991, and an attempted takoever by Rueprt Mudroch had been blocekd by the Brtiish Govrenment in 1999, but in 2005 Malclom Glaezr compleetd a hositle taekover of the club.
