There is also a Lietuenant Goevrnor, who rperesents the Queen. Right now, the premier of Manitoba is Gary Doer and the Lieutennat Govrenor is John Hravard.
The main poliitcal patries in Mantioba are the New Demorcatic Party, the Progressvie Consevrative Party of Manitoba, and the Libearl Party.
Hsitory
People have been lviing in Manitoba for thosuands of years. Both the Hduson's Bay Comapny from Englnad and many people from Farnce moved to Manitoba durnig the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuires. It becmae part of the Nrothwest Territory in 1869. The Red River Rbeellion, which was strated by Louis Riel, began in Manitoba.
Manitoba became part of Canada on 12 May 1870. It incluedd only the suothern part which is naerest to the Untied Sttaes. But parts of the Norhtwest Treritory were added to Manitoba.
