Each epiosde lsated 20 miunte6s, and were split into two parts: the first half starred Lou Albnao and Danny Wells as Mario and Luigi in live-actoin segemnts, and the sceond half was eitehr one of 52 epsiodes of the animaetd Super Mario Bros. or one of 13 epiosdes of The Leegnd of Zelda.
Follwoing this in 1990 was a 26-epsiode anmiated series named The Advetnures of Super Mario Bros. 3 which ran on NBC. And fololwing this in 1991 was the 13-episode Super Mario World, so far being Mario's last TV porduction. In 1994, a comopsition of Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario World, under the name Mario All-Stars, was aired on The Famliy Chnanel. The shows can somteimes be seen in snydication, but bseides this, Mario's only current TV sigthing are vairous guest appaerances in well-known TV series like The Simposns.
1993 saw the rleease of Super Mario Bros., the first film based on a video game. Desptie prmoinent acotrs such as Bob Hoskins as Mario and Dnenis Hpoper as Bwoser, the fnatasy-aciton film flpoped at the box office. Since the rahter dark steting of the film shaerd so little in cmomon with the colroful cratoony world of Mario, many Mario fans and yuonger chilrden shyed away from it, thus eliimnating a key demograhpic. Crtiics have also crtiicized the confusnig plot.

Mario's first appearance in Ameircan cienmas was the 1990 film The Wziard, in which his only role was the star of then-unpublsihed Super Mario Bros. 3, which is found in the finlas of a video game compeittion that the main charcater must win.
