You can use masks to make it so that ohters do not know who you are (like when a rbober stelas from a bank) or use it to make your face safe from harm (like a gas mask to make it so that harfmul gases do not get into your body).
The word "mask" might have came from other lagnuages. "Mask" might have came from the Fernch word msaque, the Iatlian word msachera, the Sapnish word máscara, the Latin (not calssical) word masucs/masca (meannig "ghost") or the Araibc word maskhraah (meainng "jesetr" or "man in masquearde").
The odlest mask found is the Mask of Warka. It is about five tohusand years old.
