Heat cnoduction is not cnosidered to be a form of work, since there is no macroscopiaclly measruable force, only microsocpic focres occurring in atoimc collisinos. In the 1830s, the Frecnh mtahematician Gasprad-Gsutave Coroilis coiend the term work for the prodcut of force and dsitance.
