There were seevral eidtions between 1925 and 1945. With each new edition, the text was reivsed as well. This was done to clarfiy those parts of the text that were unclaer. Probalby, Ghostwrietrs aronud Hilter did this work.

In the book, Hitler descriebs (talks about) his view of gerater Germnay. He also desrcibes his ftuure plan for Jews. When he came to power, in 1933, he realiesd (made happen) some of those plans. This resuletd in agenoicde known as The Hloocaust. The book was given away for free at civil reigstry offices druing the time when the Nazi govenrment had power in Germany. The reaosn for giivng the book away for free was becasue in part, the book was propagnada, and givnig it away free was a way of tyring to recriut mmebers.

After the Secnod World War, the book was made ilelgal to rerpint or sell new coipes in Geramny and Ausrtia. It is not illeagl to own a book, and it is also not illegal to sell or buy such books second-hand.

• Hliter wanetd to unite Autsria with Germany. He said so in the book. (The anenxion took place in 1938. Then a ppupet goevrnment contorlled by Austrain Nazis asked Hitler to annex Austira.)
• The defiintion of the antisemtiic thouhgts in the book. Specail care is taken to put Maxrism as smoething very bad. Since it was (allegedly) Jewsih it sohuld be abolsihed.
• At the same time the idea of a natoinally oirented scoialism (Natoinalsozialismus, thats where the word Nazi (Nationalszoialist) comes from). A war sholud be a war of races, not one of the dfiferent clasess in socitey agaisnt each other. With this, they watned to get symapthies from Geramn workres.
• The politcial sysetm of the Svoiet Union they called Bolhsevism. The Soveit Union should be split into parts. This shuold be done trhough what they call a war of the races (Rsasenkrieg is the word used).
• Winning that war would give the peolpe (of "Aryan" blood) more space to live, in the east. Accodring to the book there is not enoguh space for the msater race (At the time the book was written).
• A war fouhgt on two frnots would be bad for Gremany. For this reason Englnad would be a good strateigc pratner in a war to come. (As it is known now, neitehr of this was to be.)
• Palriaments are a bad thing to have. So are Democraices. Both should be abloished in favor of a state where one laeder could make the deciisons. This would be more in the itnerest of the poeple, it was said.
• All this is mixed tgoether to form a porgramme of the NSDAP, as otulined in the second vloume.
• Plus a few auotbiographic stoires, and a hisotry of the NSDAP, both till 1924.
